God is at work!

23 August 2006

This morning, Luan did her CT scan. We only managed to see Dr Ang about the CT scan results this evening. You should have been there to see Dr Ang's expressions when he was reading the Radiologist's report in front of us! He admitted that, yesterday, he was prepared to "call it quits" as he was of the opinion that the chemo was not working and that Luan should consider discontinuing further treatment. However, on review of the CT scan films today, it appears that Luan may have had indeed a good response to treatment. THE LEFT LUNG LESION HAS DISAPPEARED! THE MASS IN THE PELVIS HAS TURNED INTO A LARGER BUT MORE CYSTIC LESION CONSISTENT WITH TUMOUR NECROSIS.

Doc explained that the pelvic mass is bigger but softer, being filled with fluid. He is rather concerned that this cystic mass may rupture and feels it justifiable for us to proceed with surgery to debulk this mass before continuing with further chemo. Therefore Doc has advised Luan to have this surgery as soon as possible as this is a fast growing malignancy.

After prayers and some consultation, we have been led to book Dr Wong Sum Keong of Pantai Hospital in KL to do the operation on Tuesday, 29 August. Luan will be warded on Monday, 28 August. Dr Wong is the Christian Gynaecological Oncologist who first operated on Luan in early May.

Prayer Requests:
* the tumour will not rupture, before and during the operation
* Luan will keep well, especially the journey home to KL
* God will guide Dr Wong and his team as the tumour has to be removed very carefully and well
* Wisdom for Dr Ang to decide when to recommence chemo

Dearest Luan,

Missed you beyond words.

When i received the news that the lesion in the left lung had disappeared i was just soooo.. happy and i could not stop praising and thanking God. I immediately shared with my office mates about this miracle.

Wow! PTL that the tumors in the pelvic area have responded to the chemo.

I am so glad that you are coming back to KL for your op. It gives us all the opportunity to care for you.

Much love,
Selvi
